Dates Announced for Inaugural Newport Yacht Show
The Newport Harbor Corporation (NHC) officially announced the inaugural Newport Yacht & Lifestyle Collection show will be held from June 16-19, 2011.
Featuring more than just top-notch superyachts, this new yacht show will also bring to Rhode Island fine art, automobiles, jewelry, and private aviation products. With innovative programs such as design and build forums, ins and outs of chartering, technology round tables, chef and wine tastings, and parties, the Newport Yacht & Lifestyle Collection will be a celebration of the entire yachting lifestyle.
This past March, representatives of the international superyacht industry such as brokers, charter firms, and marketers, convened at NHC’s Castle Hill Inn & Resort for two days and laid out the concept of this new yacht show. Newport, R.I. provides a fitting host with its protected waterways, close proximity to both Quonset private airfield and Newport helipad, and the easy-cruising waters of the North East Coast. TF Green Airport in close-by Providence is not far either. The historical significance related to yachting in the Newport community makes for a proper backdrop.
Understanding that a yacht show’s success is not solely based on the products, but also the experience itself, NHC aims to provide one that is personal to each patron. Featuring amenities that include hospitality booths, water taxis, and concierge services, each guest will receive the proper treatment.
